About Me

I am orginally from Beaumont, a small town in Southeast Texas and I have been dancing for as long as I can remember.  Through 2007, I performed annually in the Nutcracker and held almost every role imaginable, including Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy. In high school, I was a member of the West Brook STARS Drill Team. While a STAR, I held the titles of Elite Team Member, Miss High Kick, Junior Lieutenant, and Captain. When I got to experience a leadership role on my drill team and saw the growth in my friends and myself, I truly fell in love with dance education.

After graduation, I moved to Fort Worth to attend Texas Christian University and pursue a dance degree. While a member of TCUDance, I trained under renowned faculty and performed in works by Susan Jaffe, Ben Stevenson, Jessica Lang, Li-Chou Cheng, and Bill Evans. In 2010, I was a featured performer in a piece performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

In 2013, I was blessed to receive my dream job as the dance director of my very own drill team. Lanier Middle School has a growing and thriving dance program in the Houston Independent School District.  The Lanier Dance program has won many prestigious awards during my tenure, including 3 state and 2 national titles.  Having combined my passions for dance and education, I chose to pursue a Master of Arts in Education from Michigan State University.  When I complete the program in the Spring of 2016, I will also recieve a certificate in Sports Coaching and Leadership.

In addition to teaching at Lanier, I also work for MA Dance as a choreographer, judge and instructor at camps and competitions across the country. In almost 10 years with MA, I been able to learn from many incredible professionals who have helped me grow into the teacher and dancer I am today.  MA Dance has provided me with a close network of instructors, choreographers and directors who I am proud to call my dance family.

I am blessed to have have two amazing parents and a wonderful boyfriend who support me every step of the way.  Without them, I would not be where I am today.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time at the beach with family, watching college football (Go Frogs!), and dancing with friends.
